MCP & integrations

Connect AI tools to your A47 media and usage.

How do I connect an AI tool to A47?

Use MCP to create and retrieve A47 media from an AI chat.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI tool use your A47 account from chat.

  • Open Settings → API & MCP, choose your client, and follow Connect with MCP.
  • Copy the Server URL shown there so you connect to the same A47 site you are using.
  • Claude.ai uses Open in Claude, followed by A47 sign-in and Allow.
  • ChatGPT connections also use A47 sign-in instead of an API key.
  • Clients using an API key have their own setup instructions in the same section.
  • After connecting, try asking “Show my A47 library” to check the connection without starting a paid generation.

Set up MCP

How do I create or revoke an MCP API key?

Save a new key once and revoke it when an integration no longer needs access.

  • Open Settings → API & MCP, enter a Key name, and choose Create key.
  • Copy your new key into a password manager before choosing I’ve saved it or leaving the page; A47 shows the full key only once.
  • Use the client setup instructions below to connect it.
  • A key acts on the account that created it and can spend that account’s usage. Signing out of A47 does not disable the key.
  • To stop tools using it, choose Revoke on that key, then confirm with Revoke key.
  • Keep keys out of chats, screenshots, and committed configuration files.

Where are the Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex setup instructions?

Copy the current client configuration and optional A47 Generate skill from Settings.

  • In Settings → API & MCP, choose your client under Connect with MCP.
  • Cursor offers Add to Cursor after you create a key, plus a copyable configuration.
  • Claude includes a separate Claude Code terminal command that uses your key.
  • Codex provides the environment-variable, command, and configuration options.
  • Copy these instructions from Settings so they use the current site’s URL.
  • You can also download the A47 Generate skill and save it at the location shown for your client, then use /a47-generate in a new chat.
  • The For an AI tool link provides this site’s machine-readable connection instructions.

Which tools does A47 MCP provide?

Create images, videos, voice readings, and sound scenes, or retrieve your media.

Ask for a creation in plain language, browse your library, or request a link to a finished file. The tool reference below is shared with Settings and the downloadable A47 Generate skill, including the current defaults and usage information. Publishing is outside this connection’s scope.

  • start_image: Makes one image. A prompt alone uses the usual picture. Uses about $0.14 of usage (High quality holds up to $1.02; what it did not use comes back). Optional references are library image ids.
  • list_video_models: Lists video models. Free. A plain video request does not need this list.
  • estimate_video_cost: Quotes one video in one line and returns confirmedUsageCents. Free.
  • start_video: A prompt alone is Kling 3.0, 3s, 720p, 16:9, silent. Uses $0.62 of usage. Any other option needs confirmedUsageCents.
  • save_chat_photo: Opens a card for the photo attached in this turn, including the first message of a new chat. The card continues. Do not ask for an id. Free until a generation starts.
  • latest_chat_photo: The photo saved for one drop token. Never another library image. Do not show the token. Free.
  • pick_reference: Opens a card of recent library pictures. They tap one or drop a new photo, then Generate. If the card is not visible, pass the number as referenceChoice. Do not show an id. Free until Generate.
  • list_voices: Lists stock voices. Free. A plain reading uses Maia and does not need this list.
  • start_speech: Reads text aloud. A plain request uses Maia. One yes: pass confirmedUsageCents. The same idempotencyKey on retry returns the same reading.
  • start_sound_scene: Starts a 5-second sound scene. Uses $0.05 of usage.
  • cancel_generation: Cancels the only unfinished job, or the job id you pass. If several are unfinished, it names them and cancels none. A job that never started returns the usage. A job that already started is left to finish. A job that has gone on too long can be stopped, and the usage stays.
  • list_library_links: Links to your newest images, videos and voice files. Free.
  • show_media_gallery: Shows your library in the chat when the app can draw it. Codex CLI and Claude Code read structuredContent for titles and ids, then call get_generation_link. Free.
  • get_generation_link: The link to one image, video or voice clip. Free.
  • get_video_job_link: The link to a video once it is ready. Free.
  • get_sound_scene_link: The link to a sound scene once it is ready. Free.

How do I use a reference photo or browse my library in chat?

Choose a library picture or attach a photo, then review the reference card.

  • Ask to use a picture from your A47 library or attach a photo in the current message.
  • In clients that support interactive cards, choose a reference picture or upload one, review the displayed usage, then choose Generate.
  • If the card is unavailable, the assistant can offer numbered choices.
  • Library galleries appear inside chat when the client supports them; terminal clients show a text list and can retrieve a link to the selected file.
  • A photo attached to a video request is used as a starting frame.
  • If your photo cannot be accessed, reattach it or choose the intended reference rather than letting the assistant substitute another picture.

How does MCP usage and cancellation work?

File lookups are free; generation uses your A47 account’s usage.

Looking up library files, listing models or voices, and quoting a video are free. Creating media spends the same A47 usage as the app. Video options beyond the default require a cost quote and confirmation, and voice readings also require confirmation of the quoted usage. Ask to cancel an unfinished generation if needed; when several jobs are unfinished, specify which one. A job cancelled before it starts returns its usage. Work that has already started may finish, and stopping a job that has run too long does not return usage. Review the recorded result under Settings → Usage before retrying.

Why is my MCP connection or generation not working?

Check the account, connection, usage, and saved job before starting again.

  • If A47 tools are missing, check that your client enabled the connection and that its Server URL matches Settings → API & MCP.
  • For key-based setup, check the key is active and available to the client; follow the client instructions after changing its configuration.
  • For sign-in setup, reconnect with the intended A47 account.
  • If a tool reports insufficient usage or cannot spend usage, check your plan and access before retrying.
  • Not ready means the creation is still processing: use the returned Check link or ask for that same job’s status rather than starting another generation.
  • If it still fails, send support the client name, error, and creation ID, without sharing your key.
